As part of a treatment plan CPTG Certified Pure Therapeutic Grade® essential oils can be mixed together with either JoJoba, Grapeseed or Coconut oil and then rubbed into your scalp.
Start with a basic essential oil hair formula like the one that follows. This will be customized as to which oils you currently have in your collection while you collect them all for optimal results.
Combine 4 tsp of grapeseed oil and 1/2 tsp of jojoba oil in a small bowl (or you could use any other carrier oil like coconut oil).
Next add 2 drops of thyme oil, 2 drops of cedarwood, 3 drops of lavender, and 3 drops of rosemary into the bowl with the carrier oils. (or any other combination of oils you have learned)
Gently mix the oils together and massage into your scalp for 2 minutes every night, and rinse it out in the morning (and remember to use cooler water for the rinse as hot water damages hair).
It’s very important that you massage the oils into your scalp, and not your hair. All the hair that you see on your body is dead. When we do this treatment we want to stimulate the hair follicle, which produces your hair, which is in your scalp.
Remember to gently massage your scalp in circular motions. Rubbing your scalp vigorously can cause friction and damage your hair.
Some people recommend bending over after you massage the oils into your scalp, so your head is below your heart, to increase the blood flow. You can then massage your scalp a little bit more to facilitate more blood reaching the hair follicles. Be sure to stay consistent with your essential oil scalp massages for optimal effectiveness.
Be sure to only use high-quality oils. It will be worth it to spend a little bit more money to get better results. We only recommend CPTG Certified Pure Therapeutic Grade® essential oils.
The purity of an essential oil is its most important characteristic. An essential oil that isn’t pure means you run the risk of putting germs, heavy metals, or adulterants onto or into your body, which can provoke irritation, adverse effects, or even sickness.
Without an accepted standard for essential oil quality, doTERRA created its own testing process, calling it CPTG Certified Pure Therapeutic Grade®. The CPTG process certifies that there are no added fillers, synthetic ingredients, or harmful contaminants in their essential oils that would reduce their efficacy.
doTERRA even goes a step further, putting all their products and the packaging through a battery of tests to ensure a long and effective shelf-life. This protocol ensures potency, purity, and consistency batch to batch.
